Multifamily Real Estate Analysts take specific roles in the Production and Sales, Underwriting, Credit Risk Distribution, Asset Management and Operations, Investment and Advisory or Capital Markets areas. Placement and location is determined during the hiring process based on candidate experience, skill sets, areas of interests and business needs. Analysts apply leadership, real estate, accounting, finance, statistics and economic principles, concepts, and techniques in all roles, but with differing focuses. Analysts in Multifamily directly contribute to Freddie Mac’s mission to provide liquidity, affordability and stability to the U.S. housing market and help to ensure an ample supply of affordable apartment rental housing.
Production and Sales Work closely with senior producers to size and structure permanent financing for multifamily properties. You may also be responsible for supporting day-to-day activities such as business development, customer relationships and new product analysis.
Affordable Sales and Investments Work closely with senior producers to originate, structure financing and coordinate executions for affordable multifamily commercial real estate properties. You may also be responsible for supporting day-to-day activities such as business development, customer relationships, and new product analysis for affordable sales and transactions.
Underwriting Assist senior underwriters to evaluate proposed loans for credit risk, negotiate, and obtain deal approvals, and oversee the preparation and issuance of commitments. You may be responsible for credit quality and underwriting for a particular territory, group of customers or product type.
Risk Distribution & Credit Contribute to the underwriting due diligence process associated with loan securitization. Work with Asset Management, Capital Markets, Production and Underwriting groups to transparently report and analyze credit risk while helping to maintain the Freddie Mac Multifamily K-deal and SB-deal brand.
Asset Management and Operations: Assist with managing the ongoing risk and loss mitigation efforts for the Multifamily portfolio through a risk-based approach. Operations focuses on the closing (purchase) of loans from Sellers, managing loan documentation, reconciling Servicer reporting and remittance with expected values, resolving errors with Servicer by month-end deadlines, and managing the multifamily cash accounts and all wire transactions.
Capital Markets Consists of the Loan Pricing, Securitization and Structuring teams. Loan Pricing works with Production & Underwriting to price all the loans that we purchase. Securitization oversees the creation of each securitization transaction and works closely with our bond investors and bankers in marketing transactions. Structuring connects Pricing & Securitization by modeling our securitization executions and ensuring we maintain our risk adjusted returns.
Investment and Advisory Assist team to perform all portfolio management, valuation and costing of Multifamily assets. Assist with establishing and executing investments, funding and hedging policies and transactions. Develop and manage Multifamily models and analytical capabilities.
