Portfolio Management and Capital Markets Analyst
Investments & Capital Markets
January 17, 2018
This program is designed to develop analysts with a strong understanding of the financial system and capital markets, as analysts learn how to structure and price cash flows and trades and develop the core skillsets necessary to be a well-rounded portfolio manager.
Analysts will develop integral capital markets skills through active portfolio management – hedging, pricing, and structuring – of one of the world’s largest credit guarantee businesses. Analysts will be placed in four separate rotations over a two-year time period. Program rotations are selected based on interests and previous professional and educational experiences, and include:
*Credit Risk Transfer: Transfers and securitizes mortgage credit risk to private investors through multiple types of structured transactions
*Loan Portfolio Management & Structuring: Manages Freddie Mac’s distressed whole loan portfolio and legacy non-Agency MBS portfolio
*Securitization: Responsible for Freddie Mac’s securitization process and efforts to create a single MBS security
*Servicing Capital Markets: Manages the performance of Freddie Mac’s guarantee portfolio through distressed whole loan portfolio sales, re-performing loans sales, and structured negotiated servicing transfers
*Pricing: Determines the appropriate level of fees for guaranteeing principal and interest on residential mortgages.
*Cash Window (Trading): Responsible for the loan aggregation operation through MBS trading, mortgage services to customers, pooling and analytics, and pipeline risk management.
*Other portfolio management related areas.
