Position Overview

Production and Sales
* Deal execution, property inspections, preliminary sizing of deals per Freddie Mac’s credit policies, quoting and deal structuring, and working with the underwriting group to negotiate terms of a transaction and to otherwise ensure clear communication and a seamless execution
* Deal management through rate-lock, including handling issues as necessary through the underwriting, commitment, and closing processes
Affordable Sales and Investments
* Deal execution, property inspections, preliminary sizing of deals per Freddie Mac’s credit policies, quoting and deal structuring, and working with the underwriting group to negotiate terms of a transaction and to otherwise ensure clear communication and a seamless execution
* Deal management through rate-lock, including handling issues as necessary through the underwriting, commitment, and closing processes
Underwriting
* Work with the loan origination team to structure deals
* Review borrower financial positions, market analysis, property inspections and presenting deals for approval
* Underwrite all property types, including bonds, student and senior housing deals
* Understand and apply Freddie Mac credit parameters to minimize credit risk
Risk Distribution & Credit
* Ensure quality of underwriting data and analysis presented to external parties to securitization
* Address questions from external parties to securitization, including investors and rating agencies
* Report origination credit trends for securitized loans to senior management and the broader Division
* Perform market research and act as a resource for regional production and underwriting on securitization issues
* Support ongoing development and monitor of Multifamily Credit Policy
Asset Management and Operations
* Conduct high-dollar-value, complex transactions, including the analysis, underwriting, negotiation and closing of multifamily transactions on existing loans/pools
* Administer post-purchase credit recommendations and valuations to ensure credit quality of the portfolio and accurate assessment of portfolio risk
* Provide initial review of property level operating budgets and actual operation statements for the nationwide multifamily REO (real estate owned) portfolio and work with brokers to monitor sales activity at REO properties and work towards closing
Real Estate Appraisal
* Analyze multifamily real estate appraisals to evaluate compliance with Freddie Mac, industry standards and best practices
* Provide feedback to the appraisal community, Freddie Mac Underwriting, and the Seller/Servicer network of issues/concerns of non-compliance or areas of process improvements
* Provide market research for Freddie Mac Multifamily into trends in financial markets and capitalization rates
Capital Markets
* Provide support to ensure that the pricing posture and rate-locks are set and accurate
* Deliver product and transaction-level cost analyses by conducting due diligence, document processing and financial/statistical analysis
* Support securitization execution through collateral-level due diligence and ad-hoc research
* Provide analytical support for deal structuring functions and calculating deal performance metrics
* Monitor and update pricing grids, pipeline reports, and other competitive analyses
Investment and Advisory
* Price and cost new transactions including credit facilities and affordable housing deals
* Generate and monitor mark-to-market metrics for credit, interest rate, spread and liquidity risk
* Active portfolio management including hedging and identifying opportunities to securitize loans

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree
* Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
* Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills
* Superb attention to detail
* Good verbal/written communications, interpersonal, and leadership skills
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to begin full-time employment – June 2018
* Graduation no more than 18 months prior to start date

* Areas of study to include:
Production & Sales, Affordable Housing, Underwriting, Risk Distribution and Credit, Capital Markets and Investment & Advisory
o Commercial real estate, finance, quantitative finance, economics or statistics
Asset Management and Operations
o Business administration and management, finance or accounting
* Prior internship related to multifamily, commercial real estate or financial analysis and business management or marketing communications
